About Adults

We want to extend a personal welcome to adults who are considering orthodontic treatment. An attractive smile is great at any age because when you look good, you feel good! You deserve every opportunity to have a happy, healthy and fulfilling life. Part of that dream usually includes good dental health and the secure, confident feeling that comes with knowing that you have an attractive smile!
Orthodontic treatment can be successful at any age and adults especially appreciate the benefits of a beautiful smile. Nationally, one out of every five patients in orthodontic treatment is over age 21. People living in Southern California, and Los Angeles in particular, are much more conscientious about health and beauty than the rest of the nation. Over half of Dr. Newhart’s patients are over age 25. Dr. Newhart is a nationally recognized leader in adult orthodontic treatment which requires additional expertise and experience.
National and International adult patients come to Newhart Orthodontics to seek treatment from Dr. Newhart. Trained at UCLA, Dr Newhart is a leader in Surgical Orthodontics. Jaw Surgery is sometimes needed to treat adult orthodontic patients to correct certain jaw problems that were not corrected at an early age. Adults also may have experienced some breakdown or loss of their teeth and/or supporting bone. Dr Newhart may recommend working with a Periodontist before, during, and-or after orthodontic treatment. Bone loss can sometimes limit the amount and direction of tooth movement that is possible. However, with our advance methods and expertise in adult treatment, Dr. Newhart can successfully and safely treat most every adult with an outstanding result.
Dr. Newhart is a nationally recognized authority in the diagnosis and treatment of jaw problems. Temporomandibular Joint problems are also commonly referred to as TMJ or TMD problems and are usually seen in adult patients rather than children.
Dr. Newhart is also a leader in treatment of Sleep Apnea and snoring using intraoral appliances. Spouses refer their mates to Newhart Orthodontics not only to get a good night rest themselves, but for the benefit of this non-surgical and successful treatment.
