Regular Appointments

When you come in for routine visits please notify the receptionist that you have arrived. If you would like to brush your teeth, please do so before we call you into the treatment area. Parents and friends are always welcome in the treatment area. After your treatment visit, please return to the reception area. Always make your next appointment before leaving the office. You will receive an appointment reminder for your next visit. It is your responsibility to make and keep your appointments. Failure to do so could extend the length of your treatment and could compromise your final results.

Emergency Appointments VS Repair Appointments

Our office utilizes two different appointments to manage broken appliances or other problems that may occur between regular office visits. Established patients may request an appointment for repair or an appointment for an emergency depending on the situation.

Regardless of the type of appointment you need, please call us before you come to our office. We now offer services from four locations, and you need to call to find out which office to visit. If you are requesting emergency treatment, we will need to know something about the emergency so we can prepare ourselves for your care. There may also be some first aid procedures that we can relay to you over the telephone that will benefit your treatment and recovery.

We know that distinguishing between repair appointment and an emergency appointment will be of benefit to you and that it will aid us in continuing to give you the very best care.

Repair Appointments

The REPAIR APPOINTMENT is not an emergency appointment. Wires sometimes break, and bands or brackets can become loose. These things must be repaired but they do not constitute an emergency.

When you call our office for a repair appointment, our receptionist will schedule an appointment for the repair, if one is needed. Frequently we find after talking with a patient or a parent that the repair can be accomplished at the regularly scheduled, upcoming appointment. Sometimes we are able to help you avoid an extra visit to our office throughout our conversation with you. While waiting for repairs, remember to keep all areas clean, especially if there is a loose band. Baking soda can be used to keep the area in need of repair clean and help to condition oral tissue in preparation for replacement of the orthodontic appliance.

Emergency Appointments

An EMERGENCY APPOINTMENT is just that..an emergency. When there is sever pain, profuse bleeding, injury, or a suspected infection present, you need immediate care and should seek an EMERGENCY appointment.

Emergencies are acute situations that require immediate attention. You may be given some instructions for care until you get to our office. You will be seen upon arrival and your emergency will be treated. If extensive repair work is necessary, we will make you comfortable and reschedule repair work for a later date.
